What to expect?

Pre-Appointment: A client intake and consent form will be emailed to you to help me plan the session. Please be specific as this helps me plan what specific assessments are needed.

Initial Appointment: An assessment covering speech sounds, and myofunctional disorders (and any other relevant areas). Findings and recommendations will be discussed and provided in a brief follow-up email.

Therapy Schedule: Based on your child’s needs, weekly or fortnightly sessions may be recommended to help build and strengthen skills.
How can you help?

Ensure your child’s case history is completed at least 3 days before your initial session.

If possible, it would be great to have table space ready for our session.

Our sessions are fun! If your child is nervous or shy it may be settling to mention that I am coming to have some fun, play games and listen to their sounds. 😉

Correcting speech sounds or facial muscle function is just like learning a musical instrument! This means that regular practice is required to help learn new patterns. I will provide practice sheets and game ideas at the end of the session so that your child can work on and reinforce these skills even when I’m not there.
Children who experience difficulties in the following areas can benefit from our therapy:

Pricing
Sessions are conducted 1:1, and parents are more than welcome to observe. Sessions can be conducted at homes, schools or at our new clinic space in Canning Vale, WA.
Please note all assessment data and information will be shared with parents and will be summarised in a follow up email; however, assessment reports are not included in the session cost. Any assessment reports, NDIS reports, LDC reports etc. must be requested and are at an additional cost. Please enquire if needed.
Initial Assessment - $180 (no report included)
Treatment Session – $150 (approx. 45 minutes therapy time and 15-minute note writing)
Travel is charged at:
1-12km = $35
13-20km = $45
21-30km = $55
31-40km = $65
Travel is calculated from Armadale WA.
Below are rebate options some families may be eligible for:
1. GP referral CDM – (slight change to price due to recent changes)

This is a referral that entitles families to a Medicare rebate of $60.35 on 5x sessions per calendar year. Families can access this by visiting their GP and explaining their concerns for their child’s speech and/or language development.

Speech Bloom will then need a copy of this referral so we can process the rebate and deduct it from your session price, creating a new balance of $79.65 (not including travel).

2. National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Speech Bloom only accepts self or plan managed (not agency managed) NDIS clients.

If you feel your child may be eligible for NDIS but does not have access to this funding, please contact me and I can provide you with some useful information about the NDIS and processes.
3. Private Health Insurance

Many insurance covers include (or can include) speech pathology as an extra. If you are unsure whether you are covered, or how much your insurer will cover, please contact them directly. You may need to quote:

Cancellations

Due to the nature of mobile sessions and the high demand, 24 hours notice is required if you need to cancel an appointment for any reason. Cancellations can be made by contacting me either by SMS, or email. If we get less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee may occur. No shows (without any notice) will be charged the full session cost.
